TimaTontine

Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 September 2026

By using TimaTontine you accept what follows. Please read it: the second point is the most important one.

What TimaTontine is

A tool for keeping the accounts of a tontine — a savings circle. The app records who committed, who contributed, for which turn, and who receives the pot. It sends reminders and lets members talk to each other.

TimaTontine is not a party to your tontine. We never hold, move or collect any funds. Members pay each other directly, by whatever means they choose, and then declare that payment in the app.

We therefore guarantee no payment whatsoever. If someone does not contribute, if a pot is not paid out, or if a member disputes an amount, you settle it among yourselves. We have neither the power nor the responsibility to arbitrate.

What the app shows is what members have declared. A declaration may be mistaken or untruthful: checking it is the group organiser's job.

Your account

What is not allowed

An account that breaks these rules may be suspended. Every suspension is given a reason and recorded; you may contest it by writing to us.

The organiser's role

Whoever creates a tontine sets its rules — amount, frequency, grace period, late penalties, whether receipts are required — and validates declared payments. Those choices are hers, and the app merely enforces them.

What TimaTontine costs

Nothing. TimaTontine is free to use, within two limits: one tontine at a time and ten members per tontine. Fundraisers have no limit on how many you run. Everything that protects members' money — receipts, penalties, blocking an incomplete payout, confirmation by the recipient — is free and will stay free.

There is nothing to buy today, neither in the app nor anywhere else. Those limits may be lifted case by case. If a paid plan ever appears, it will go through the App Store and Google Play, and you will be told about it in the app.

Availability

We do our best to keep the service running, without guaranteeing it will never be interrupted. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or slow on the first visit of the day.

Liability

TimaTontine is provided as is. We are not liable for sums members owe one another, nor for the consequences of an inaccurate declaration made by a member, nor for a disagreement inside a group.

We remain responsible for what is ours: the security of the service and the protection of your data, on the terms set out in our privacy policy.

Closing your account

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account. Your credentials are erased and access is cut immediately. The tontines you took part in remain visible to their members: these are shared accounts, and erasing them would distort the record for everyone else.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any action is taken.
